WCHS PROM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, well, well. Prom is FINALLY this weekend. After months and months of emails, questions, and phone calls.............pre-booking is over, and it's time for a good photog-session to be held THIS SATURDAY from 3:00 until sunset!!!!!!!!!! The LATER the better!!! Wooooooooooooooooo hoooooooo! :-)! Let's do it!

Well, everybody knows that I'm ONLY an on-location photographer which means that I only shoot outdoors except in SPECIAL SPECIAL circumstances when I work my indoor magic (thus my brain wheels must turn harder, and if anybody reading this have ever had a pregnant brain, you know the wheels are a little squeaky when turning).....so we are crossing our fingers with this rain situation and taking a chance!!!! There is NO SECOND INDOOR LOCATION! Believe it. Am I crazy? Ok, so don't answer that, OK? I just don't shoot indoors, OK? Everybody has their "ticks" as my Mama says. Ok, so I have lots of "ticks". I keep telling on myself.

I have booked so many couples for my shoot, which will be located near Poppell's and Nang's and I hope it all works out! If not, there are DEFINETLY some GREAT photographers in town that I would recommend, such as Angie Copeland who will be set up at Bennett's Jewelry and Silvy Tompkins who will be set up at her studio on South Brunswick street, and Armstrongs.......not sure where she will be, but probably at her studio! So if it rains, and you've already pre-booked with me, go hit one of these photographers up and tell them I sent you! Let's share the love. I'm giving out full refunds if it rains, by the way. Hey...God brought clouds when I did my tennis shoot, he stops the rain when I've needed it to stop for Judit and the Lanier shoot this past weekend....................let's hope he does it Saturday!! Everybody use the prayer, and pray for my sanity! :-)!!!! I have a love for crazy.

Anyway, ya'll come on down......something fun, I've ordered Jenny Thomas Photography Tshirts (limited supply) so you'll be able to purchase one of those bad boys.....did you know that I used to design tshirts????????????????????? Ok, well hopefully this will all go well, I hope you have a good week and hopefully I'll see the prom-goers on Saturday! :-)!!!

Judit's Graduating....and she's georgeous!

Well, I didn't think we were ever going to get this shoot finished between the rain and wild small town traffic, but Judit's shoot was beautiful!!!! :-)! She is absolutely gorgeous, and I just loved so many of her shots..........I basically closed my eyes and picked which ones to use for the sneak peak because she was so photogenic it was almost impossible for me to sit there and pick and choose!

Judit is a senior this year and I met her on one of my crazy ventures..............I believe I had actually gone to the bank to get change for my WCHS tennis shoot......and she was working at the bank! She said, are you a photographer....and I said, YES! Why don't I show you my prom ad.......so I pulled it out and before I could turn around she wanted to book for her senior pictures!

Judit wants to be a cosmetologist.........going to cosmetology school so we had some fun shots with her straighting iron, curling iron, etc....but I thought I might confuse people if I put those in the sneak peak, so you can imagine the fun we had with those.......and between the rain drops we finally made it. The wild thing that happened...her umbrella got caught in the racks on top of my SUV and I thought I was going to have to drive around with a hot pink umbrella on my car all the way back to Jesup. It never fails, something crazy happens to me on every shoot.

Anyway, I wanted to get these up for her so you can check out just a SAMPLE of the shots we did currently under my sneak peak...........Had fun!!!!!!!!! :-)!

The Most Difficult Shoot I have ever done

As a photographer, I am usually asked to photograph seniors, families, or events that are a celebration of something exciting to come: Something special. This photo shoot was just that, yet so different then any other shoot I have ever done. In fact, it WAS a major celebration of life and I believe that it was more special then I will EVER know. EVER, EVER, EVER know. I did the photography for this family on Saturday May 16, 2009 and sadly, Mr. Smith passed away 30 minutes after I posted the sneak peak, today, May 19, 2009.

For the Smith family, this photo shoot was a celebration of life and love for a father who was battling cancer. I usually put myself in the shoes of those that I am photographing, and I think about what they will want, and what they will like, what they are experiencing........and with this photo shoot. I lost it. I could hardly do what I had set out to do. I am so glad that I got to capture these moments for this family. To walk 20 minutes in their shoes was extremely difficult for me. I was honored to meet this family and witness their continuous strength during this time, as "Papa" has been battling cancer for three years, and he was in the final stages.

It's hard for me to write this, but what I found so emotionally heart wrenching about this shoot was seeing the LOVE that this family had for a husband, father, and grandfather. I had the opportunity to witness it through a camera lens, and it was so special...........words CANNOT begin to describe the emotion and story that was told through this family. To see his wife whisper in his ear nearly sent me to the house........what was she telling him??? Whatever it was, I know he could hear every word of it, and he was smiling on the inside.

I wish this family the best as I know there are many who are thinking about you and praying for your family! Your Papa is pain free now and I am so, so, so, so, so glad that I could do this for you!!!!!! It meant SO much to me. Like I said, usually my photo shoots are a celebration of something exciting to come: Heaven is most definitely something exciting to come, and your family knows your there smiling down on them.

Stay strong and thank you for this opportunity to capture these moments with your family!!!

Jordan Maxey: Senior 09! Oh Yeah! :-)!

Ok, so I've had three new sneak peaks in the past week or so without blogs attached to them, and I apologize about that...........however, we all know my preggo problem! Good news though, I must say that as of yesterday I kind of started feeling a LITTLE better............2nd trimester is almost here!!!!!! ;-)!

So I guess I'll pick back up with bloggin' about my shoot with Jordan Maxey, who is a senior.........but only for a few more days! Can you believe that school is almost out,.......... she'll be off to school before we can turn around!! Jordan was so sweet, and very understanding of why I was green colored during the photo shoot..........and we had a good time! On my way to meet her, I noticed the car show in the Star Hardees parking lot, and when I ran the idea by her....she wanted to do it! So, it was my first time taking a senior to an "event" to do the photography, and you would have thought that I was a celebrity photographer, and she a celebrity!! Everybody was looking and watching us, and were very interested in what we were doing!!!! They were volunteering their cars left and right! Am I crazy??! I guess the answer is YES!

A car-enthusiast wanted to know why I didn't pose her by his hunk of metal...........just couldn't pick them all! :-)! We were welcomed though, and we had a good time! We also ran into another model of mine, Miss Erica Goober and her boyfriend Patrick who I just love so much......and we had a good visit!!!

Before I left, Jordan said something that made me laugh.....she told me she hoped my "vomiting" gets better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds like something crazy I would tell somebody!!!!!! She was so funny, real, and just plain SWEET!! Wait a minute, I think she told me she got voted SWEETEST as her high school superlative. I can see it.

OK, well I hope to pick back up soon. I feel like I'm a million miles behind with my preggo sickness, but at least I got through the graduation invitation rush OK. Also ran into a fan over the weekend, Mrs. Holly Lane from my Davidson and Lane family shoot, they are such a beautiful family. I think I was green colored when I ran into them in Longhorn, with all the "food smells"!!! Can't handle those very well!!!

Oh yeah, speaking of "picking back up", Avery Coleman needed to change his photo shoot date, so I haven't actually done his photography yet (it's on my calendar like it's already past)...but I can't wait.......he is too sweet as well, and the Wayne Co. High Homecoming king! Go Avery go! I'll call you!

OK, y'all have a good one! Had fun Jordan!!! Hope you didn't get maleria from the misquito attack!!! Until next time!
